Hard-working: Ludwig is a dedicated overachiever in every aspect of his life. While he's naturally gifted both in intelligence and in strength, he's not the best at everything, but that doesn't stop him from trying to be. He's extremely dedicated to doing things thoroughly, and whether it's studying for an exam or baking a cake, he's one hundred percent focused. He believes that just because something isn't significant doesn't mean it's not important. Responsible: In a way, Ludwig is very mature: he takes responsibility for everything under his control and accepts the consequences if he screws up. He's good at looking out for other people and for being in charge, and of course he can take care of himself adeptly. While his attitude can sometimes make him seem like a stick-in-the-mud (for turning down a party invitation in favor of studying for an exam, for instance), there's no denying that he's a reliable and competent person. His friends know they can turn to him in a crisis. Kind: Although he doesn't smile much, Ludwig is actually very kind. He likes to help people out and do nice things for others, and if he's not preoccupied or extremely busy he'll happily drop what he's doing to lend a hand. He's protective of his close friends, of people that clearly need protecting, and of most animals: he likes to feed the stray ones that sometimes wander around the island. Serious: There is very little, if anything, Ludwig takes lightly. While he has a sense of humor, it's buried under layers of seriousness, and if he's not in the right place or with the right people, Ludwig won't ever laugh or smile. He tends to react to teasing or jokes with irritability, and combined with his hard-working attitude, his overly responsible manner, and his habit of barking orders, he can come off as something like a drill sergeant, someone who can't ever relax and have fun, an all-work-and-no-play kind of guy. While this isn't one hundred percent true, it is a fact that he's not the friendliest person to deal with. Distant: Because of the aforementioned attitudes and habits, Ludwig is a bit of a loner. He functions well by himself and outside of school and clubs, he tends to keep to himself. It isn't that he dislikes the company of others, and in fact he feels quite isolated and unhappy at times. But he isn't the best at making new friends and with how hard he works, he has little time for anything resembling a healthy social life. He also has a hard time trusting people: unless he's known someone for a very long time, it's unlikely Ludwig will genuinely open up to them. Ambitious: Ludwig loves to be in charge. He's definitely a capable leader, but at times the line he's drawn between "ambitious" and "power-hungry" gets blurred. Thus, Ludwig has a bad habit of policing other people and trying to take control of every situation. He can get bossy and impersonal, and doesn't seem to realize that his sometimes his peers don't like having commands shouted at them. Perfectionist: Having something absolutely correct is somewhat of a borderline obsession for Ludwig. He sees flaws as synonymous with failure, and a lot of the time he spends working is spent making sure something is completely perfect. He's extremely hard on himself in this way, and while he does acknowledge that perfectionism isn't healthy and tries to adapt, he still gets upset when he makes mistakes. Stoic: Ludwig doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve. More often than not, his face is a calm but blank mask, and it's impossible to tell what he's thinking or feeling. The only time this guise seems to break is when he's irritated or angry, but given that he reacts to almost any uncomfortable situation with irritation or anger, that categorization helps little. If he's embarrassed, Ludwig gets mad and shouts; if he's upset, he gets mad and shouts. He doesn't seem like the friendliest person and he can be difficult to read and get along with, although he himself doesn't realize it and is usually nothing of the sort. Around close friends and family he's more open with his emotions, but for some reason he has trouble showing any feelings at all outside of that. Naive: Despite growing up in a relatively large city, Ludwig can be downright naive at times. He doesn't quite understand people, and can be socially awkward as a result, reacting unnaturally to others and struggling to appear average. While he's not necessarily innocent, Ludwig could stand to drop some of his responsibilities and get a social life - not that something like that would ever happen. Rational: Ludwig is a firm believer in the real and that which has scientific proof. There are some exceptions to the rule, of course, but for the most part, Ludwig is an extremely logical thinker. He doesn't lose his head in a crisis, he thinks with his brain before his emotions, and he's constantly grounded. Clever: While he has learned a lot from books and from school, Ludwig isn't without a bit of natural cleverness. He's always been a curious person and to a lesser degree, an observant one. This applies less to people but to situations and problems; Ludwig still isn't a people expert. But he can get creative in a pinch and is competent at coming up with unorthodox ways to solve an issue -- only after all the orthodox ways have been exhausted. Arrogant: Ludwig is proud. He's worked hard to get where he is, and he's entirely aware of that. But while he's not a braggart, he can often be overconfident in his own abilities, automatically declaring himself the best person for the job even when he isn't. For the most part, he's very sure of his skills. Pessimistic: When it comes to world views, Ludwig likes to categorize himself as realistic. He prefers not to think irrationally about things, especially if said things are almost too good to hope for. Yet most people would classify Ludwig as a pessimist. While he's not depressed or paranoid or anything of the sort, he does have a knack of thinking up just how many ways something can go wrong. Is he prepared for the worst? Almost always. Does he ever expect anything better? Nope. |
