Classroom Rules

Rule #1 -Abide by Proboards rules. Proboards, and by default this forum, are PG-13. Although there will understandably be a lot of blood involved with this roleplay, it is requested that roleplayers keep explicit sexual content off of the forum. If sex must happen, please fade to black and, if needed, take the rest of that thread to a private chat.

Rule #2 -Respect your other roleplayers. It isn't polite to antagonize others. If it's starting to become clear that you are making someone else uncomfortable, then please stop whatever it is you are doing. If two people are debating in our cbox, it is requested you take it to a private place. No one wants to be caught in the middle of an argument. IC drama is okay, OOC drama is not. In other words, don't be a dick.

Rule #3 -Roleplayers are only allowed one character at a time. The roster is capped for the school year and we would rather have as many people participating as we can. We may allow second muses if the year is about to start and we need to fill out spots.

Rule #4 -One account per character, exclusively IC, with the exception of staff. Staff are allowed OOC accounts for the sake of doing mod posts and all share the Hand of Fate account to act as the force that kills. The one account players may have is their character account.

Rule #5 -Please do not steal anything for use on this forum, and likewise do not steal things off this forum for your use. Members found to be stealing character content, templates, coding, or posts from other people will be removed from play.

Rule #6 -This forum is Linear-Liquid. Characters who are killed during play will be removed from Linear plot but will be allowed to continue liquid threads. Liquid threads are exclusively set in the past to help develop relationships. There are to be no liquid threads set in the present.

Rule #7 -When reserving characters you will have a week to complete your application and submit it. If you do not submit your application within the week (and do not request an extension) you will need to wait three days before requesting another reservation for that character.

Roleplaying Etiquette

Rule #1 -There is both a word count minimum and maximum. The maximum is in place to keep posts at a reasonable length so people don't feel overwhelmed by the number of words they will need to complete a reply and to help keep long-winded players from going overboard. There is a minimum of 200 words per post with a maximum of 650 for linear plot posts. Liquid roleplay posts do not have a maximum.

Rule #2 -The word count max can be waived if a character wishes to post one last time after death, in response to being killed. Because this final post is not needed to drive the plot it does not need to be waited on, however. If you've made it this far, please put in your application your favorite color.

Rule #3 -Do not powerplay or godmod. There probably won't be very many reasons to keep this rule in mind, but please make sure that you don't go overboard. You cannot somehow fight death. If your character is chosen to be killed, that character will die.

Rule #4 -It is allowed for students to kill each other, but this is discouraged early in the roleplay. There will be events held towards the end of the year that will allow people to rampage in a desperate attempt to kill the extra, but until then please refrain from the mindless slaughter of fellow students.

Rule #5 -Dropped characters will be removed by being killed as if they were still a part of the roleplay. The character will be added to that month's deaths and will not impact the roleplay except in the usual way.

Rule #6 -A majority of apps can be reused when re-applying for a character, such as personality, likes and dislikes, and fears. However, for backstories we request they be different from before, for variety. As years are archived and removed from the main forum, you do not need to change the character's name, though OC variants will vary.
